- Jewish values shape everyday life. Teachings about kindness, respect, responsibility, justice, and community provide a meaningful framework for how students treat others and make choices.
- Students learn to live their values. Concepts such as tikkun olam—repairing the world—move beyond theory as students put Jewish values into action through service, leadership, and caring for their community.
- Students see Jewish values in action. The way teachers and adults interact, care for students, resolve disagreements, and build community gives children opportunities to experience Jewish values—not simply hear about them.
- Jewish identity becomes part of everyday life. Rather than experiencing Judaism as something separate or limited to synagogue, students learn to see Jewish values and traditions as relevant to who they are and how they live.
- Students can explore challenging topics in a safe community. Issues such as Israel, antisemitism, Jewish safety, identity, and global events can be discussed openly and thoughtfully within a supportive environment.
- There is a presence of Israel in the classrooms - at Mandel JDS we bring Israel to life via Israeli dance, food, flags, maps of Israel, Israelis in every classroom (teachers & students), books and music about Israel.
Belonging, Identity & Community
- A strong sense of belonging. Students and families build close relationships through shared holidays, traditions, celebrations, and Jewish life-cycle experiences.
