Jessica Favitta, Lower School Teacher
Jessica Favitta will begin her role as a fourth-grade teacher at Joseph and Florence Mandel Jewish Day School in August 2026. Jessica graduated from The University of Akron in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. She maintained a career in healthcare social services and contracting until 2021. She then pursued her desire to become a teacher and earned her Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. While earning her degree, Jessica worked as a paraeducator and (long-term) substitute in Pre-K through fifth grade classrooms in local school districts. From there, she was a fourth-grade teacher in Garfield Heights City School District for two years. Jessica has found teaching to be her true calling and she loves creating engaging lessons for her students. When she’s not at school, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, their 2 daughters, 12 pets(!), friends and family. She also invests time in her position as a Twinsburg Township Trustee, a Board Member for Garfield Heights Education Foundation and volunteering in her community.
